This refreshing cole slaw combines crisp vegetables with the sweet and savory flavors of Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce. It’s quick to prepare, perfect for BBQs, and works as a side dish for everything from grilled meats to sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 6 cups shredded green cabbage (about 1 small head)
- 2 cups shredded purple cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional for creamier texture)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional for depth)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables
In a large mixing bowl, combine the green cabbage, purple cabbage, carrots, and green onions. - Make the dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce, rice vinegar, and mayonnaise (if using). Stir in sesame oil if desired. - Toss the slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture. Toss until all vegetables are evenly coated. - Season and garnish
Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top if using. - Chill before serving
For best flavor, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Tips
