Lava Sriracha Hawaiian Slaw

Cool, crunchy, creamy, and just the right amount of spicy. This Hawaiian-inspired slaw combines crisp cabbage and carrots with a creamy dressing featuring Azeka’s Lava Sriracha Sauce. It’s the perfect refreshing side for grilled meats, burgers, and summer BBQs.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

For the Slaw

  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 2 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

For the Lava Sriracha Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1–2 tablespoons Azeka’s Da Red Lava Sriracha or Da Green Lava Sriracha, depending on your preferred heat level
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slaw. In a large bowl, combine the green cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, and sliced green onions.
  2. Make the dressing. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, rice vinegar, honey, Azeka’s Lava Sriracha Sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Start with 1 tablespoon of Lava Sriracha and add more if you like extra heat.
  3. Toss it together. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Chill. For the best flavor, refrigerate the slaw for about 20 minutes before serving. If you prefer an extra-crunchy slaw, toss with the dressing immediately before serving instead.
  5. Finish and serve. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions.

Serving Ideas

Serve alongside chicken skewers, beef kebabs, grilled pork, pulled pork sandwiches, or burgers. You can also pile it directly onto BBQ sandwiches or tacos for a cool, spicy crunch.

Tip: Da Red Lava Sriracha gives the slaw a bold, classic sriracha kick, while Da Green Lava Sriracha adds a bright, zesty heat.
