Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
For the pork chops:
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Azeka’s Sauce Apple Glaze:
- 1 apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and finely diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ cup apple cider (or apple juice)
- 3 tbsp Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce (adds sweet-savory depth)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a tangy note)*
Instructions
1. Prepare the glaze
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add diced apples and brown sugar. Sauté until the apples begin to soften and caramelize – about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in apple cider, Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Remove from heat and set aside (it will thicken a little more as it cools).
2. Grill the pork chops
- Preheat the grill (or grill pan) to medium-high heat.
- Brush pork chops with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill for 4-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- During the last minute of cooking, brush both sides with a light layer of the Azeka’s Sauce Apple Glaze
3. Serve
- Let the pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
- Spoon extra glaze over the top.
- Garnish with thin apple slices or fresh thyme if desired.
Tips & Variations
- Make it spicier: Swap in Azeka’s Spicy Maui Sauce for more heat.
- Oven method: If you don’t want to grill, sear the chops on a skillet and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
- Pair it with: Roasted sweet potatoes or a warm Brussels sprout salad.
Why It Works
The Azeka’s Maui Original Sauces balance of sweet and savory brings out the natural flavor of the pork, while the caramelized apples and cider glaze add the perfect fall-inspired touch.
