Ingredients
- 6 cups Hawaiian sweet bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (day-old or lightly toasted)
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¾ cup Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce
- ½ cup chicken broth (plus more as needed)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ teaspoon dried)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions or chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven

- Cook the Bacon & Veggies
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crisp.
- Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In the same skillet (with a little bacon fat), add butter, onion, celery, and garlic.
- Sauté until soft and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.

- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, bacon, and sautéed vegetables.
- Pour in Azeka’s Maui Original Sauce, chicken broth, thyme, pepper, and salt.
- Toss gently until the bread is evenly coated. If the mixture feels dry, add a splash more broth.

- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
